Sorry to bore the non politicos on the list but i'm totally hooked on
the US Election this time and might even get up in the middle of the
night to see the live coverage on the day itself.

McCain's time was 8 years ago, but what has happened to him in this
campaign is pitiful - you don't laugh at him but feel like your watching
a David Brent/Alan Partridge moment of uncomfortableness at all times
with the banalities he comes out with.

When he chose Palin I asked some yanks was there ever a case where a VP
candidate pulled out of the campaign in disbelief [there was] such was
my surprise. Then to see that she actually went down well at the start
was mindboggling Thankfully those with a brain have seen through the
"feistiness" and now see her for a complete muppet.

The polls in most of the key states might show a healthy lead for Obama
but you have to be wary of an electorate that voted twice for Dubya, aka
Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Hopefully my wariness is mistaken and it'll be a landslide.

well I saw that of course I spend all day on US websites waiting for the
next poll, outrageous comment etc (feck knows what I'm going to do for
amusment after the 4th - unless Palin gets elected in which case it'll
be a laff a minute well for the 4 minutes before the bombs start
dropping for the End of Days) but bloopers like that seem really unfair
on a nearly dead guy, whose spent 200 days travelling 1,000,000 miles
making the same speech over and over and over again to blokes in john
deere baseball caps. I really felt sorry for him when Bush murdered him
in 2000 and up until about
2 months ago thought he would make a good prez, until I saw the
Manchurian Candidate. The funniest thing about his speeches is Cindy
standing behind him, switching from a rictus grin to a 1000yrd stare
every 5 seconds - Im not sure she's quite finished with those drugs.
