Hi

He landed into my local pub in East Clare (Rep. of Ireland for those
geographically challenged) back in the mid 90's. The owner at the time
was an unbelievable character, but really knew his music and recognised
him off the bat.
Long story short, for the next week or so, John marytn stayed in the
area, ,massive music & drink sessions into the wee hours with John on
the piano.

Good memories

Subject: [LU] Non LU: RIP John Martyn

Most of you won't have hard of John Martyn, but his albums from the 70s
were absolute gems, and he recorded the "other" Live at Leeds disc in
1975 - yes, it was a storming gig, with Paul Kossoff coming on at the
end.

Only 60, he had bugger all to do with LU, and he could be an irascible,
drunk sod. But the magic of those albums are enough to keep his memory
alive.
