There were a few worse things for me last night: 1) The worse 4-0 game (Leeds victory) I've ever seen. 2) The worse, but most predictable penalty miss I've ever seen. It's a shame somebody couldn't tee it up for him first to nod in unmarked from 3 yards 'cos he would have scored then. 3) The worse performance I've seen from someone who scored a hat-trick. 4) The worse argument I've seen over a penalty being taken - I'm sure there were tears. Scores on the doors: Casper - can't mark him 'cos he had nowt to do - literally nothing. Douglas - 6. Had a bit of defending to do first half as Yeovil came out brightly. Did ok. Parker - 6. Again had little defending to do so he was ok. Going forward he looked ok and had a hand in a very scappy first goal. Naylor - 7. Steady , solid. Rui - 7. Steady and solid but why does he find himself in possession at the back so often leaving him to dither and look uncomfortable. Kilkenny - 8. Only person on the park with something different (apart from Beckford in front of goals). His pass through to Beckford for his second goal was simple but brilliant. He's definitely the heart of our team at the moment. Howson - 5. He's just not doing it for me at the moment. He doesn't stamp his authority on the game and drifts in and out. Delph - 6. Not happy on the left. Playing out of position. Snodgrass - 6. Strangely anonymous first half , came in to it second half but not his best. Beckford - 7. Should have had a double hat-trick, but you can't really argue with his 3 finishes which were quality at this level. His all round play though was poor throughout and it just shows you that at this level you can score 30 goals and still not be able to trap a ball. Becchio - 6. Ok, I'll give him credit for a decent first half where he worked hard, won a few headers, showed one or two good touches including an excellent cross to Beckford who should have converted... however, he never looks in control of a football and sort of spoons every pass i.e. he doesn't connect cleanly and it is usually in the air rather than controlled and on the floor. He then, very annoyingly rolls around like a baby (or an Argie) when tackled - that's disgusting and then decides he is going to overrule everyone by taking his bat and ball home unless he gets the penalty. Snodgrass stood down and Becchio rather predicatable hit it 10 feet over the bar. He was immeditaley subbed - I cheered that decision. The worse penalty I've seen since Kandols ... and talking of Kandol, Becchio's 2 in his last two now takes him equal with Kandol's total that I said he wouldn't better. So it looks like I'm on a loser however I'm sure most who have seen Becchio over the season will agree that at best he's poor to average in this league and the fact he's scored 11 league goals is about right. Add to that he is a twat and I think we should be looking for other options up front. Overall, I'd say he's about as good as Kandol i.e. shit. Subs: Grella - 7. I thought he looked lively and also had skill - much more than Becchio. I'd give him a start alongside Beckford. Johnson - did he do owt. Yeovil - I thought they were the best side in the first 30 minutes - they then went to pieces..... but that says more about us than them. Yes, I know I might get slated for this .... ffs we won 4-0 but there was more bad than good in this game for us. --- On Wed, 11/3/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > From: [email protected] <[email protected]> > Subject: [LU] Yeovil > To: [email protected] > Date: Wednesday, 11 March, 2009, 7:36 AM > Yeovil - not the worst team to visit > - they did at least have a go for the first 20 minutes - but > surely one of the most lightweight.
