In a similar vein, I took my 7-year old lad to see us play at MK Dons just
before Xmas.
Having gone to school in Carlisle, and with them playing away at Northampton on
the same day, I arranged to meet up with a few Carlisle mates for lunch and
some ale before the games.
We went our separate ways but it only took 15 minutes, as we flogged the 2nd
goal from a corner, for my lad to say quietly to me (we were in the MK end) ...
"Can we go and watch Carlisle instead ?"
I can understand a young lad preferring to watch a top Premiership team in the
CL ahead of the tripe we now serve up, but Carlisle ...
Only his big grin when Snodgrass pulled one back stopped the day from being an
unmitigated disaster.
