Yes it was. The original question was about honour in defeat - or heroic failure. I'm reminded of how excited we got when Frank Bruno managed to land one on Mike Tyson. It's a momentary delusion. Liverpool turned up, patted us on the head, play fought with us for a while before flooring us - and we're still too groggy and star struck to realise we lost.
