Dave No...well, yes and no...you see we tend to be pretty uneven within most matches this season...at times incompentence reigns (this is generally when Andy Hughes has the ball or Sam Vokes gets in the way of a teammate again) but at other times we look set fair to demolish the opposition. I would categorise last night as efficient. We beat a team from a lower league, comfortably, without ever looking like we'd lose, but similarly we didn't "sparkle".
This is probably because we had a few first teamers out, other first teamers who are not quite regulars as such, some others out of position. In the back 5 only Naylor is a regular in the position he played last night (and even he's missed a bunch of games through injury). The midfield had a loanee (who looks less a 90 minutes player and more an impact, bring-him-on-with-25-minutes-left, type), a regular sub, a regular leftside starter starting in the middle and the regular right-midfielder starting on the left. The forwards were much as you would expect - (as an aside anyone notice how much we're missing Becchio as the team scores 4-0, 4-0, 3-1 victories...no me neither) Good to see Aidy White continue his comeback. PS - that Grimsby letter is hilarious...
