Another week another entertaining thread! With my name you'll hardly be surprised on my point of view on Monarchies but trying to be objective....
I simply cannot see how in the 21st century there is a place for ANY Royal Family, even symbolically. The fact that people hold in high esteem a bunch of inter-related families European families, pay them a fortune every year, numerous castles, 1000s of acres of prime land which belongs to the country itself (and then they get miffed at paying taxes). Sheer lunacy.
