My problem is ... name me the last BIG game that he bothered to show up in?
Last night? Nope.
Liverpool? Nope
Both Millwall games in the Play offs? Nope.
Doncaster in the Play Off final? Nope.
I think a lot of people are missing the point with Beckford slightly. It
looked to me last night as if a) he is aware that televised games are really
important for his career, and b) he is also aware that he is on a run of bad tv
performances. I think he was trying to put that out of his mind, but the longer
he went last night without scoring, the more it started to bug him, and as is
always the case, even with professionals, the worse he played. It is a
psychological thing, which will probably persist until he gets that last minute
winner at Old Trafford!
