Sounded like a nightmare. Eddie Gray didn't think much and was astonished at
some of the poor football we served up. His main complaints (and my mate that
went) was that Howson is just not suited to playing on the right and Grayson
really has to make the difficult (for him not me !) choice of 2 from 3
(Kilkenny, Howson or Doyle) in central midfield. Also they said we gave away
posession too easily - Becchio and Hughes being the worse candidates, the
former having a real stinker. Why does Grayson love Becchio so much ? Since
Grayson took over last Christmas Becchio has scored very few goals and his
basic game is really lacking imo. I think it's always going to be a battle
linking up midfield and attack when you've got someone like Becchio who finds
it hard to play simple football. Every pass is a struggle. For
me, Kandol, Grella and the largely ineffective Vokes are all better options.
Vokes will come good and I think his all round game is streets
 ahead of Becchio.

Also, why when obviously going for the win did he talk Howson off and replace
him with Crowe ? Mind boggling. Surely Grella was the option ? especially after
his goals the other night. He's just about our only permy player who can do
something on his own to create a goal. Grayson obviously doesnt rate Crowe as a
defender anymore as he prefers Hughes and the hapless Capaldi, although he's
been more than happy to play Hughes at left back most of the season. Is it a
case of promising Capaldi games during his loan spell (same for Doyle maybe ?
).

Ok, I'm a pessimist but I just sense that we need to get the balance in our
team back - Norwich and Charlton are too near for comfort. Big decisions for
Grayson over the next week or so.

I think we should withdraw from the JPT (or send the youth team out), does
anyone really want a day at Wembley playing Norwich. For one, we'd get stuffed
and who really cares. I don't think I'd even watch it on telly.

Southampton should be interesting.

I cannot remember when I enjoyed a match less - partly due to the game and
partly due to the fact that I was stood in "retards corner" !!  .........
