My money is on Lee Barnard, as Southend won't be able to refuse a half
decent offer as he is out of contract in the summer. 17 goals so far this
season too.

Billy Sharp has been a revelation for rovers, but was cack for the blades
(the team he supports!), and allegedly has some of Beckfords traits.

As an outside bet, I'd go for Caleb Folan - although not sure I'd want him
back, he's far too similar to Beckford in so many ways (except the good
ones).

In reality, if Higgs is out long term, I'd like us to spend the money on a
decent keeper (Casper still scares the crap out of me on
crosses/corners/catches - but he is an excellent shot stopper). I'd then
like us to promote from within. Grella being the obvious candidate tgo grab
the top striker spot, with the others fighting to keep him company.

cheers,

Andy C
