Have to agree with Rich more than Dave - sorry Dave!

I was in the east stand upper for the first time in donkeys last night. I'd
forgotten what a great vantage point that is, but it made for uncomfortable
viewing in the second half. 3-1 did not flatter Spurs and yes they did boss
the second period of 45 minutes; their passing and movement was simply too
much for us at times and Lubo gave Defoe the freedom of Leeds let alone
Elland Road. We simply didn't appear to have the energy to lift our game
again after going 2-1 down and there appeared to be a lot of tired bodies
(understandably) in white shirts in the last fifteen minutes.

First half was a different story. I thought we were their equal for the
most part and after they scored we had our best spell of the game, really
putting them under pressure and getting a deserved equaliser - we didn't
really want half time in my opinion as I think we had them on the rack then.

As for Becchio - give the guy a break Rich. He may not be a lethal finisher,
but the guy works his bollocks off all the time. He sustained that in the
second half (unlike some others) and in my opinion could have done with a
bit more support from his team mates - perhaps they were just too tired.

I travelled with the Bradford branch last night - we had our usual man of
the match vote on the bus on the way home. Casper won it by a mile (says it
all really but wasn't he magnificent), but Becchio did come second!

Hi All,

Sorry about lack of match reports recently - just had 2nd kid and havn't had
time to sh*t !

I disagree with Dave on a few points

1) I don't think we were unlucky and I don't think the 3rd goal flattered
them. They completely bossed the second half. I thought we were tremendous
first half and deserved to go in equal.

2) I think the gap in class was there to be seen throughout most of the
match. Maybe we matched them between 25-45 mins but we were second best in
both matches.

3) Becchio - come on Dave, the bloke can barely control a football,
everything is so difficult for him. He's crap. Unless it's an open goal from
one yard out he's more than likely to miss it.

4) Lubo couldn't cope with the pace of Defoe (who can ?) but he was really
exposed. Defoe looked like he'd score with every attack.

Rich

I have only put that cos I have jsut arrived home haivng come back on the
train to Manchester Picc with a few other fans and we all agreed - we were
great. We ALL felt that though Spurs just about deserved it ,the third goal
flattered them, and for big swathes of the game it was impossible to see who
was Prem League and who was 3rd Divison. And then I get on here and you all
seem to be saying we were outclassed in every department and played off the
pitch.
You may all be correct but that is not how it felt inside ER and right up
until the 3rd goal (in injury time) myself and 33,000 other Leeds fans
belived we might just do it !
We were even singing we want Fergie time at the end rather than wishing the
final whistle would come so confident were we that the team could give it
one last go and get yet another equaliser -and we nearly did when Bromby
headed over instead of in with a few mins to go.
Whatever the truth of it, the players can be totally proud of themselves -
they? gave it their all and came up just short - and this agaisnt a top 6
(if not better) Prem side.
Anyway as we all sang on the way home "FA Cup who gives a f**k, wer'e super
Leeds and we're going up"
So bakc to the real world on Saturday and we can go into the game with great
hope - Larry can hopefully get the same level of comitment then that he did
today and with the skill shown we are to good for pretty much anyone in this
Division.
We should not even be too tired with McSheffrey, Lowry and Gradel all
inelgible tonight, plus Kisnorbo and Kilkenny missing - so he can (subject
to latter two fitness) make 5 changes which will improve or at least not
diminish the team. Also with a bit of luck Becchio, no whe is under
presssure for his place, may start scoring now he has broken his famine.
A win on Sat and then win at Carlisle and things will all be ok with world
again
?
DAve
