I remember that game Betty, it was a fortnight after my own debut at
SOTG
on 27th August, when the Johns Hawksby and McCole scored in the 2-0
pasting
of rotherham that turned me into a life-long addict! My cousin [he of the
Faversham] and I had assumed that henceforth we would be taken to all the
Saturday home games and were most pissed off when his dad refused to take
us. The defeat merely pissed us off even more!
As we're confessing, I turned 58 in December.
