We should have won this at a canter - Brentford were awful. Snoddy and
McSheffrey were given the freedom of the pitch and Brentford's non-tackling
full backs guided them into crossing positions time after time.
Had we had some luck we would have won by 3 or 4 but we can't rely on luck
any more and we should have done more to win this.
The game was crying out for Kandol what with all the crosses but no -
Grayson takes Becchio off leaving us with Beckford (heading very poor today)
and Dickov (cripes!)
Johnson came on for White and we lost any momentum we had going into the
last 10-15 mins. Very odd by Grayson - Gradel would have made mincemeat of
their back line.
Really quite depressing - not cos we played badly - but we missed a golden
chance to get 3 points today.
Casper 6 - made one great save
Hughes 6 - steady game and made some forward (mainly decoy) runs
White 7 - Good energy going forward - shame he went off.
Kisnorbo - 8 Usual rock at the back
Bromby 6 - looks OK but I worry he has no pace.
Snoddy 7 - lots of ball but delivery needs to improve
McSheffrey 7.5 - looked lost for 30 mins then was our best forward player
Howson 5 - Game was head tennis mainly in the middle and he aint great at
that
Doyle 6 - as above. Can't fault his effort
Becchio 5 - nothing really came off for him but he tried as usual
Beckford 4 - got a goal but looked a bit off the pace again. Seems to refuse
to challenge for any ball or chase and harry defenders
Subs/
Lubo 2 - hit the post and caused problems in the air but at the back he kept
hoofing it inexplicably into touch!
Johnson 3 - Poor player and not an impact sub
Dickov 3 - As above.
Grayson 5 - Subs were woeful but at least we had width today and we created
plenty of chances.
