OK, OK, OK, another set-back, another poor performance. Now injuries
to major players are causing grief. Massive games coming up. But are you all
lining up to jump off Leeds Bridge into the River Aire or going to Amen Corner
and jumping in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. I'm not. There are two major
factors to cling on to as I see it. Firstly, we are still in second place by
three
points which is as good as four points with our superior goal difference.
Secondly and by far the most important factor is that we are still in command
of our own destiny. We still don't have to rely on other clubs losing points.
Situations change in every division in every season and it's quite obvious
this season is no different. Some of you will say, what is this silly old cunt
on about
but we have to face facts and the facts are as above. We cannot put the clock
back
we have to move on. My third and final point and very importantly is this.
Before a
ball was kicked at the beginning of the season would you have settled for being
as
good as four points clear in second spot with nine games to play? I'm sure I
would have.
Am I grasping at straws, maybe, but where there's life there's much hope in my
book.
I'm sure the players and management are feeling far worse than any of you good
people are.
