I'm more worried about the defence. I haven't seen a lot of us live lately but from the few TV games we have problems. Collins was awful from beginning to end and he is a premiership player! Higgs wasn't great but that could be match sharpness. On that evidence Casper should be furious about being dropped. Bromby came from the championship, on the games I've seen he looks like he came from the conference. Hughes, you can see why he is in favour but also why he is regularly slated and why Norwich fans weren't sad to see him go.
In midfield, am I remembering it correctly that we had an embarrassment of riches at one time last year, we had Robinson who refused promotion to come to us, Kilkenny a premier league reject who was a star at Oldham, home grown Howson a star in the making. All so good we could let Douglas go to Swindon where he has walked the player of the year and probably into the championship. Yet all ours have gone backwards except Doyle who has found his level according to my Coventry fan mate. Not really that fussed about beckford, I didn't think he was particularly bad or good and when subbed he clapped the leeds fans. Doesn't look like a player with a bad attitude or whose mind is elsewhere. He just looks like a League One player going through a bad patch possibly caused by the midfield.
