I said I would do this for someone so I might as well put it on for all to see if they want to see it.
Bates was asked about the accounts from July 2009 to the when the film was made, small profit is being made, when doing the budget at Leeds we assume the worst and hope for the best, money from TV again making a small profit. The foreign voices (native accent rubbish) business was not in my opinion said nastily, it was said in the way any normal person would have said it with humour and well received by the audience who cheered. Racist, not in my book, nasty not at all who doesn't have a joke about it now and again, come on. The none transparency ownership was explained, the owners are on a hiding to nothing with unfair publicity encroachment on their familes etc etc. He mentioned some great Leeds fan who is worth many millions who Bates'ey wanted on board but because of the forementioned reasons the man won't become involved. He reckons high profile publicity seeking owners are no good, he reckons good owners take a back seat and let the football people get on with it. He had nothing but praise for Grayson. He quoted the record of Grayson since he joined the club he's managed 81 games up to last Monday won 46 drawn 18 and lost 17 and said percentage wise that's a hell of a record. Last saturday people were telling me to sack the manager. I said hey what does he do with seven games left, he mentioned clubs who have sacked their managers but are still in the bottom three. I don't believe chopping and changing managers although some people say I have done my share of that I don't think that it works long time. He said if you think you have a good manager but is going through a bad patch you stick with him. He mentioned Ferguson seven years before he made the grade but the board stuck with him. If there is money and we are promoted to the champinship the money will be available we want to be out of the championship and in the Premiership and will buy and plan on that design. He did mention Notts Forest, Leicester, Cardiff, Blacpool all knocking on the door of the Premiership, none of these clubs have spent much money but with good managers have planned accordingly and that's what we intend to do, if there is money available we will spend it, if we get in the championship. Look at Wigan, Burnley, Stoke, Bolton, Fulham, Hull that's six crap cubs if they can hold their own in the Premiership so can Leeds United we want to get out of the Championship to the premier league and start building from there we are the third biggest town in the country and deserve to be there with the rest of England. The next question was, what would happen if we don't get promotion, Bates'y I thought was in good form said, firstly thing is we would line all the players up and shoot them, (some lister said "believe this was a joke) he went on, we'll start that again. He said football is a fascinating exhilarating, exciting, exasperating, humiliating, frustrating and annoying thing in the world how can a guy miss an open goal from three yards out, how can someone head a ball from forty yards out and it goes in, that's the exciting thing about soccer. We have six games to go given a fair wind I think we will go up. He went through some of the coming fixtures of both Leeds and other clubs and finished the question by saying if we don't go up in the famous words we will pick ourselves up dust ourselves down and start all over again. Good on yer Ken. He got a terrific ovation from the audience. None of this is sugar coated, most of it is word for word. I know the Bates haters will have ago at me again as they have already made comments about this press conference that is nowhere near this true report. Bates came over to me as if he means what he says, why the fuck would he waste his time and his wife's time fucking about in Dublin if he doensn't give a fuck.
