I thought that too! Clearly those in the inner sanctum of football know
things we don’t, like journalists know that famous actors are g...@y or royals
like bizarre s*x practices or a certain England defender had a problem with
Columbian Marching Powder but never say it.

I wonder if we have just discovered something that is known to the few but
suspected or not by the many!

If we don’t get the world cup The Mail should be held responsible!

On the other side of it how many of us in our jobs, talking off the record
have sl'gged colleagues or competitors off in ways we wouldn’t say publicly!
100% I reckon!

Subject: Re: [LU] Treisman and the World Cup bid. Joint statement by FSF/SD

I'm ambivalent about the World Cup coming to the UK, but one thing that
struck me was the lack of explanation (so far) about what Triesman actually
said. Were they just a joke (badly done), was it just a hunch, or did/does
he have some actual evidence to back up what is a fairly bizarre and random
statement??

If Triesman genuinely held these views I'd be more than interested to know
why? That said, if they're true then he'll do well to stay alive as
presumably Russia's darker forces would be involved?
