Just want to bring to your attention the plight of Billy Burton, an old mate of
mine who's now done 18 years in a Phillipine jail for drug smuggling, and seen
his sentence increase to 40 years! Don't condone what he did, but 18 years
already is way more than enough. Some of you may have seen Billy at games, home
and away, with me and certainly with Ted Heaton (Tadcaster boys!!). Billy was
always as daft as a brush, and stories about him are the stuff of legend!
You'll see that the old King of the Kop, Gary Edwards, has also given him
support in the Wetherby News piece (well you will if you buy the hardcopy,
where there are 2 whole pages on him).
If there's any way you can support the campaign to get a cracking lad back home
then please do so.
