Yeah, Billy was a great lad, we had plenty of laughs in the old 2nd Division days in the early - mid 80's when I lived in Tadcaster & then Harehills. Again, I don't condone what he did but he's served 18 years - surely enough is enough! I've contacted The Thalidomide Trust to see what's being done. I did write to him about 8 or 9 years ago but I never heard if it got there. Funny - I last saw him before the Rangers Home leg in 92, he was telling me how he'd been to the away leg (with Garry Edwards I believe) even though Leeds fans were banned. I didn't realise that must of been a matter of weeks before he was jailed. The first ever conversation I had with him was when we met thru mutual friends in the pub and he asked me what they called a Lambretta rider with short arms - - - - - a Thalidamod. Certainly an ice-breaker all things considered!!
