Subject: [LU] NON LU: This and That and a bit of football
Hi Guys
I haven't been around on the list for a couple of weeks or so (well, I
tried
to follow on my mobile a bit, but not easy), not that it is likely it
would
have been noticed as I tend not to post very much these days anyway. The
reason I have been missing is that I have been in hospital due to having
suffered what turned out to be a minor heart attack! Well, if you are
going
to have one, then I reckon a minor one is the best kind to have. :-)
After
a number of days of being bored shitless in hospital (and more than a
little
scared shitless I can tell you) they finally got tired of running every
test
known to man and, as the Troponin levels had dropped down to reasonable
levels (for Sean - that would be 0.08 from over 1.62), they threw me out
with a whole bunch of follow ups planned.
I now find I am to be bored at home as I have been told to stay off work
for
at least a couple of weeks, which neatly dovetails into a couple of weeks
of
booked leave I have at the beginning of July, so will not be back in the
land of the working folk until mid July. My problem is this, and this is
the
bit I would appreciate advice on; I am already tired of daytime TV (apart
from the occasional World Cup game - most of which piss me off because of
the Vuvuzela noise), have seen all the DVD's I own and can't stir any
enthusiasm to watch them again. Have read all my books and don't fancy a
re-read, and even the internet has it's limits (I suspect Internet porn
would be a no at the moment?) - Gardening is out, our lass has forbidden
it,
so I find myself mooching from one part of the house to another, almost
hoping that something exciting has presented itself since the last time I
was in that particular room (and of course it hasn't). I go for regular
short walks, as I have been advised to do, but it's hardly a thrill a
minute
is it? Ho Hum......
Any suggestions?
Random football bit - How do we honestly expect England to do today? A
draw
is no good as I expect that the USA will beat Algeria and will leapfrog us
if we do not win, so it seems simple if we don't win we will not qualify.
Slovenia are no mugs (no team is at this stage) but the USA almost took
'em
so we should do so too, IF the team can get their act together. So what do
we realistically expect?
Cheers
Steve G
