Well that was a waste of time and effort for the 1700+ Leeds fans who turned up
in dreadful conditions to watch a performance that was equally dreadful (a lot
of our fans actually left after the second went in!)
The highlights for me were the two songs - first to Kasper "your'e Dads a c*unt
but we quite like you" and the amendment to the Jan 3rd song so it now goes
"Jan the 3rd remember the date, we beat the team that we f*cking hate, ater
that we had a blip but still went up to the Championship".
I like to go to at least one pre season game to get a sneak preview of the new
players - well I was disappointed in many ways. First neither Sam nor Paynter
got on the pitch and Connolly only had the last half hour. As for the other two
Bessone was a liability , being regulary beaten by their winger which led to
the first two goals. As for Schmicheal whilst he has blond hair like his Dad
he has none of his Dads prescence and looks very small for a keeper. His
kicking was good but he was out of position for th first goal, had no chance
with the next two and got nowhere near to saving the last minute penalty. So
the early signs are not good but I do accept it is too soon to judge them.
Somma who is almost a new sigining did look half decent as did both White and
Gradel who both came on late and caused problems with their pace and trickery.
The scoreline could have been vastly different - we hit the woodwork twice
(Snoddy and Johnson) and the keeper made a few good saves, one in particular
was as good a save as he will make all season. Having said that we had a few
narrow escapes in addition to the four goals conceded.
Overall very disappointing and we will need to improve big time if we are to
make any sort of impression in the League
Dave
