Special Freeedom Socialist Party Meeting The U.S. Elections we didn't hear about! Thursday 17 December 1998 @ 7 pm If the Australia media was all you had to go on, you could be forgiven for thinking that the U.S. election was one big referendum on Bill Clintonıs sex life! The Freedom Socialist Party gave Americans the opportunity to vote for real solutions when it stood candidates in five cities. In Los Angeles, Muffy Sunde scored more than 10% of the vote. In Seattle, several unionıs enthusiastically endorsed Guerry Hoddersenıs campaign. And in San Francisco 19,000 people cast their vote for school board for a gay Chicano socialist feminist. Come and hear a report about these exciting electoral races. Discuss why socialists stand in elections and explore what we in Australia can learn from these electoral races. Dinner will be served before the meeting at 6.15 pm for a $5 donation. Venue: Solidarity Salon, 1 Appleby Cres, West Brunswick.
