Solidarity with Indoneasian strikers.
There will be a benefit to raise money for 2000 textile workers, mainly
women, who have been on strike at the Tyfountex plant in Solo, Indonesia,
since August 1998.
Saturday 19 June at 7:30 pm
at the Comrades Bar, Swanston St
(next to the ETU offices, corner Queensberry Street)
There will be music, comedy and speakers including:
Solidarity activist Tom O'Lincoln, recently returned from Solo
An Indonesian student
An East Timorese representative
Admission is $10 and $5 concession with all money going to the strike fund.
The event is endorsed by the Electrical Trades Union (Vic branch), the
Textile Clothing and Footwear Union (Vic branch), University Students for
East Timor, Socialist Worker.
