MARILYN WARING TOUR
Marilyn's public lecture series, hosted by the Trust and sponsored by
Maurice Blackburn Cashman, attracted 600 people in Melbourne on Sunday night
and 160 last night in Ballarat. We are expecting over 300 at the Frankston
Cultural Centre tonight (7.30pm) and tickets will be available at the door.
Marilyn is a riveting speaker and writer. We have limited copies of her two
books, "Counting for Nothing" and "Three Masquerades" available through the
Trust office for $24.95. Call us or e-mail your order. Also available: Joan
Kirner & Moira Rayner, "The Women's Power Handbook" and Eva Cox, "Leading
Women", at $20 each.

SHOOTING STARS
The Trust is hosting a reception to pay tribute to two outstanding
Australian sportswomen - basketballer Robyn Maher and netballer Vicki
Wilson - on Thursday 12 August from 7.30pm at the MCG. Tickets are $30 or
$25 concession and include a fully escorted tour of the Gallery of Sport.

ITALIAN CULTURAL VISIT
Join us for a reception with two prominent Italian women, Senator Tullia
Carettoni Romagnoli and Professor Maria Paola Azzario Chiesa. The reception
will be held at Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday 26 August from 6.30pm. Cost
is $7 or $5 concession and includes light refreshments. This event is
organised in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture, Women's
Electoral Lobby, Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs and Victoria
University of Technology.

WOMEN & FINANCE SEMINAR
This seminar is already well-subscribed so please confirm your booking if
you wish to attend. The all-day seminar will be held on Saturday 31 July
from 10am-4pm at Deakin University, Stonnington Campus, 336 Glenferrie Road,
Malvern. Keynote speaker is Barbara Smith, Australian Taxpayers' Association
and workshops include the sharemarket, superannuation, small business,
property and investment. Cost is $30 non-members, $25 members or $15
concession.

Tickets are still available at $10 each for the Trust raffle which offers a
one-in-twenty-five chance to win. Prizes include weekend getaways, a $200
voucher from Made in Japan, theatre tickets, gift baskets and babysitting
services. Winners will be drawn on Monday 2 August.

The Tenants Union of Victoria is seeking expressions of interest for
suitably skilled persons to join its Board of Directors. Particular skills
sought include legal requirements of corporations, finance, human resources,
strategic planning, social policy and public relations. For further details

24 August-30 November - The Welfare Rights Unit presents a 14-week course on
Social Security Law & Welfare Rights Advocacy - Tuesdays 9.30am-1.30pm at
North Yarra Community Health Centre, Collingwood. This course will assist
advocates to meet the social security needs of their clients. For further
