Disability and Sexuality Forum Planning meeting this Tuesday 2:30 3rd Floor Ross House Flinders Lane The goal is to have a forum on the sexuality rights of people with disabilities (physical, intellectual, psychiatric). This may be happening at Melbourne Uni on October 15th. The first planning meeting is on this Tuesday (31st) 2:30pm at Ross House (small meeting room 3rd floor) Flinders Lane. If you don't know where this is then you should try to find it as Ross House is a real hub of community groups and resources. 2. Sunshine Rooming House Battle. Public Meeting 150 Durham Rd. Sunshine Thurs 2nd Sept 7pm I can now place the changes to rooming houses in some wider context. The increase in rents and the loss of tenancy rights is part of a transition of Rooming Houses to what are called Supported Residential Services (used to be called special accomodation). Most rooming houses like the idea because they get more control over "clients" (once were tenants). The government gets to build a lot of mini institutions for no cost (except the cost to public housing stocks). Come along to a public meeting at 150 Durham Rd. Sunshine, Thursday 2nd September 7pm.
