yes your right same or very similar product just a different name,
and you may be right about the slipping
I might have one more go at my first design
and machine all the points in the tool at once before I abandon the whole
idea
perhaps I should just try and buy a legacy hub and have one for each machine
but buying legacy parts as you know is extremely difficult these days

Hello Bill
Is that a steb bit, or some clone of one?
If you mean turn a shoulder, as so this bit fits into the double locking
collar of the Legacy, I think you may have something there!
Only one small problem that I can see with this idea. (at least on my
1000ex.) The bolts that hold everything together are not strong enough
to realy put a lot of stress on the headstock/tail stock. On my unit I
can only go snug, If I try to tighten up my spindle like I do on the
lathe something always slips. I am afraid that the Legacy will not be
able to put enough pressure on the steb to keep everything form
slipping.
Hopefully Im wrong. I have no first hand knowledge of this.
I wish you luck! Hopefully this will work out well for you.
Please let us know how it turns out? ;-)

Have a great day!
And Thanks Bill.

I haven't quite given up on a interchangeable spur drive from the lathe
to
the legacy and back again.
so I have come up with this spur drive, I bought it on eBay and turned
a
shoulder on it for the double locking collar

seems to work ok so far but I don't know how it will go with a large
cur yet
hopefully ok
Bill

Definitely not selling this one. It takes me too long to make them
manually. I could farm it out but it would still be expensive for two

three units.
