Hi Begat,

Legacy does not show the use of feather boards in any of the videos, but
later in the newer manuals they show the use of feather boards with the
table.  They also wrote an article in one of the magazines.  When I look
back, the real danger zone is when you are trying to cut the edges of the
stock.  When the board get forced into the fence, or the bit is when bed
things are happening.  At least that's what I'm thinking at the moment.

My experience was the same as yours.  I think Mike is onto something.
Do you remember the legacy "overhead" router that used wheels as hold
downs? I saw it in one the the postings that Curt made.  I just took a
look at the linear moudling table video.  They don't use any special
hold down whatsoever, but they do emphasize feeding the stock from the
headstock to the tail stock.
