Thanks for the article Tim.  I have been playing with trying to make a pen and 
pencil holder but have not been able to center when cutting out the center 
hole, I am not sure if I can drill that large of a hole with this method, but I 
do plan on trying.   

I am thinking I will need to try 2 different ways, one will be with making the 
designs before cutting out the center, the other will be cutting the design 
after cutting the center.
