Hello Again Begat
I honestly have no idea what this unit is worth, I too would guess a few
hundred dollars, but in no way $1750. that's almost thousand dollars more than
what is sold for back in 2000.
14 year old machine, with limited capabilities, No tilt, and very few gear
pitches. with a headstock that used plastic or bronze bushings, I just don't
see any real value to this.
On the good side of things, the alum. rail has some value since you can not get
it anymore. but I am sorry I think this gentleman is in for a rude shock if he
thinks an antique has value just because of its age.As a matter of fact, most
antiques that are worth something, were normally expensive to start with,
giving them value,You very riley find a product that was sold cheaply when it
was new and still has some kind of value to it, Sadly this was an entry level
machine at its best, even when it was new.
Have a good night.
C.A.G.

Thanks Curt. By the way, this 500 looks a lot like the 600 I bought last
year for parts (See the plastic gears behind the router?). I hope Tim has
convinced the guy to post more pictures. I don't know whether I would pay more
a few hundred for it.

    Hi Begat
That's Crazy! the model 600 sold for $787.00 back in 2000. I cant find the
price for the 500 but it was even cheaper since it did not have any gears. (by
the way, the gears for the 600 were plastic not the metal ones that we see
today.) $1750. is way to much for what you are bidding for on this one. New or
not. But that's just my two cents worth of it.
Any-how Thanks for letting us know about this one too, Begat. I did not
chime in earlier, but I too am enjoying your efforts. Thank you.

      Hello All, especially Tim,

On the history page, there is a picture of a 500 that Tim took from a
Legacy video. http://ornamentalmills.com/history/index.html

Well, there is an aluminum version on ebay:

Tim, I think you'll have to add to the history page!

The asking price is absolutely crazy, $1750.
