well here is my first job on my replacment revo since the fire. my sons
karate teachers are moving interstate

and he will be getting a new teacher so i made this for his club to give
them as a going away presanet

it took me a few days i had to ajust the revo it was too stiff in the
leadscrew and the saddle but a few adjustments a touch or 2 with the file and a
reamer and its all nice and free now

  and no slop eather .

ok question time now what do you all think is the best router bit to do the
middle of a hollow spiral? a strait router bit or a uppercut spiral bit,

i started with the spiral bit and it cut very smooth but when i was almost
through and at the end the cut when it touched the end of the spiral (gently i
might add)

it vibrated for a split second then broke at the base of the bit were the
spiral joins the shank. then i had no choice i had to finish and do the second
spiral with a strait bit,

a little rougher cut but it didnt break or vibrate when i touched the end.

so what do you all think has any one tried both types of bits doing these

  Bill

PS the spiral is 6 inches long 1and 1/2 inches dia and 3 inch pitch the first
part is a 2 start done with a 1and 1/2 inch barley bit and the middle was cut
with the 3/8 strait bits

all simple text book strait off the legacy sights techniques page
