Roger,

I agree with your comment as regards Amazon.  I made a poor selection of words to convey my thought.  The point I meant to make was that I'd pay more to get the Wixey device versus buying the Grizzly unit.  Like you, for me it's not all about lowest price for an item.  In this case I'd gladly pay more for the Wixey because it has features I prefer (as I mentioned in first email) and right or wrong, I feel Wixey will be of higher quality as well.  I feel that Incremental Tools will only sell products that meet a fairly high level for quality.
By the way, I took no "offense"(personal criticism) to your comments - rather appreciated your reply.

Mac

Hi Mac
The Grissly unit looks very much like the type that used to be fitted to the Legacy Z Axis, in fact it looks a dead ringer and that is going back 8 to 10 years.

The Wixey is obviously better quality, I have used a number of their items but not these although one or two customers did use them on their router lifts with varying degrees of success, hence the reason INCRA are selling them.

Just another observation and please do not take it as a personal criticism but why do people look for the cheapest supplier, in this case Amazon, and then wonder why the local and national dealers disappear from the market?

Regards
Euro Roger

PS I no longer have a business tie up with INCRA as I have retired, well semi retired BUT I made sure I had all the INCRA products I needed before I retired. Now I just sell Legacy and Magnate!

Thanks Max,
The real "plus" for the Wixey device is that the connecting wire is not "wired in" to either the sensor or readout.  Instead it uses a computer network wire (replacement wire easily bought anywhere in various lengths) that plugs in to the sensor & readout unit.  I hate small wires "permanently" attached to a device - you run the risk that they eventually fail, making device unusable.  I like the Amazon price for the Wixey unit.

Still have not heard from anyone that has used ANY of these devices.
If you have, here is your chance to contribute to a discussion
Mac
