Dan, do look through all that's available on http://www.legacywoodworking.com if you haven't done so. You'll find instructional material there that can actually be more useful than what's in the printed manual as it includes color photographs. I find the manual is most useful for assembling the machine, but this doesn't sound like what you're looking for.
