Hi Bill
The fact of the matter is that the Evolution did not sell! Why did it not sell
was partially because of the price of $3,000.00 and that was where it was
because it was designed to be CNC up-gradable.

Now maybe Andy got that wrong, personally I think he was correct and I was a
strong advocate of that feature. What we forgot at the time was that the low
cost CNC market was growing, hence why the Explorer sells well, and that was
where Legacy has to be and the cost of an Explorer is on the face of it an
extra $1,000 or so.

Actually people forget that you need a PC, software and “the knowledge to drive
the system” so it is not for everyone and that leaves an opportunity for
someone to come to market with a manual machine. If I was twenty years younger
I might have had a go but my sights are currently set on moving house in the
next few weeks and working out how to get the contents of my 20’ by 20’ garage
into a wooden workshop 10’ by 12’, now that is a design problem.

Cheers
Euro Roger

Thanks curt almost felt like i was there. I agree with you with the economic
times now

The evolution I feel would be a good seller or the revo witch use to sell for
under a $1000

That’s what I started with then after a time spent a fortune on extras lolo

Hello Everyone.

I was able to make it to the woodworking show today. Sorry Bill,

Nether Tracy or Andy were there. I young gentleman was teaching and a nice lady
was running the CNC demo. so I was not able to talk shop with the Big Dawgs
today.

But On the good sides I was able to watch and pick up a lot of neat stuff,.

For you CNC Guys there were 4 other CNC sellers doing demos and selling there
stuff. and all had the ability to do spindles, although not in the same scale
as Legacy has now, but If you ask me Legacy kn itch is getting much smaller, in
the CNC field, But on a good note No ONE was doing spindles or could conpeat
with the Legacy manual machines A primitive model 600 or 900 I think would do
well in todays market. AND I realy think that Legacy should try a up-graded
there model 200 again, The pen turning market was huge this year. (just my 2
cents worth of it. Just in case, Legacy is still looking at this web page/group
posting .) ;-)

I did get the " Intelligent Woodworking pamplet" that Legacy was giving away,
(I will get it copied for all here to see latter.)

Todays Big sales ,or draws for me were , Ron Brown from brown's best (top
knot-ch turner and salesman. his chatter, knelling ,and texturing tools were
impressive. ) Carter tools, sales people also were also entertaining and
informative . Packard woodworks has a lot of neat stuff ! , Woodline has a
very nice 1 1/2" carbide planing cutter with interchangeable/replaceable square
cut carbides, Very KOOL in my book. (It was $75.00 at the show. ) (I did not
buy it this year, but I think it would be a good deal for the Legacy in the
long-run.)

Also a note on SteelStamp and Brands-first (custom made branding irons.)
Arbortech (grinding and carving wheels) and Hannes tool (lathe tools.) were
all very good.

Epilog Laser was very nice, but way out-side my woodworking interests. (things
that I make or want to make at this min. But none the less Neat stuff.)

Over all today was a lot of fun. I did come back with a few new ideas to try
on/with my Legacy.

I hope everyone has a great day.

We will talk to you all latter.

C.A.G.

for what it's worth, there is a woodworking show in somerset, new jersey next
weekend...i will be going...and the legacy guys are scheduled to be there...i
have gone to this show in the past and found that the legacy people have no
interest whatsoever in discussing their older equipment...but if someone has a
question i will give it a shot...let me know...joe
