Thanks Roger.
Kathy was very helpful, it looks like she will be a good sales person for
Legacy. ( I wish her Luck. and you can tell her that. for me.) ;-)

By the way if you are still thinking about a modified 200 how about using a die
grinder or a Roto zip type of tool instead of a lam. router. It would cut down
the noise and still have plenty of power for a small spindles. I would also
make the cutter unit cut form the two a-clock position or the side (three
o-clock or 90 deg.) instead of the top, making it easier to copy turn, (so you
don't have to fight gravity.) Just a few thoughts off the topic. (more or
less.) ;-)

Hi Curt
The young lady who was working the CNC was Kathy Wise, she is world renowned
for her Intarsia work, and she was ably assisted by her husband.
See I don’t have to go to shows to know who’s there. I thought it was Kathy but
I needed to check before making a statement.
Cheers

Hi Roger.
Most mini-lathes are 17 1/2" so keep up with that mind set. and conpairing,
apples to apples. I would think that would be a good size for Legacy to focus
on.
As a matter of fact, Knowing on my Bigger is better approach, they might as
well make a extension for this unit, to please the furniture market 44" mark as
well. ;-)
and keep the price as low as possible. ;-)
If you talk to Ron Brown again, tell him I will be sending him the results of
my single cutting knerling tool soon. ;-) I did enjoy our talk !
Have a great day.

Hi Curt
That young gentleman was John Hennen for your information, as to who the young
lady was I cannot tell from here but was she cutting out parts on the CNC for
Intarsia, if so I know who it could be.
You also commented that other CNC manufacturers were there with rotary
capability BUT WERE THEIR MACHINES MADE IN USA? And I mean manufactured there
not just bought in from China and labelled up made in USA.
I agree there is a good market for a re-engineered Model 200 but what diameter
and length between centres do you want and what would you pay?
Ron Brown offers some nice products, I have some of his tools and talk with him
regularly.
Glad you enjoyed your day out.

Hello Everyone.
I was able to make it to the woodworking show today. Sorry Bill,
Nether Tracy or Andy were there. I young gentleman was teaching and a nice lady
was running the CNC demo. so I was not able to talk shop with the Big Dawgs
today.
But On the good sides I was able to watch and pick up a lot of neat stuff,.
For you CNC Guys there were 4 other CNC sellers doing demos and selling there
stuff. and all had the ability to do spindles, although not in the same scale
as Legacy has now, but If you ask me Legacy kn itch is getting much smaller, in
the CNC field, But on a good note No ONE was doing spindles or could conpeat
with the Legacy manual machines A primitive model 600 or 900 I think would do
well in todays market. AND I realy think that Legacy should try a up-graded
there model 200 again, The pen turning market was huge this year. (just my 2
cents worth of it. Just in case, Legacy is still looking at this web page/group
posting . ) ;-)

I did get the " Intelligent Woodworking pamplet" that Legacy was giving away,
(I will get it copied for all here to see latter.)
Todays Big sales ,or draws for me were , Ron Brown from brown's best (top
knot-ch turner and salesman. his chatter, knelling ,and texturing tools were
impressive. ) Carter tools, sales people also were also entertaining and
informative . Packard woodworks has a lot of neat stuff ! , Woodline has a very
nice 1 1/2" carbide planing cutter with interchangeable/replaceable square cut
carbides, Very KOOL in my book. (It was $75.00 at the show. ) (I did not buy it
this year, but I think it would be a good deal for the Legacy in the long-run.)

Also a note on SteelStamp and Brands-first (custom made branding irons.)
Arbortech (grinding and carving wheels) and Hannes tool (lathe tools.) were all
very good.
Epilog Laser was very nice, but way out-side my woodworking interests. (things
that I make or want to make at this min. But none the less Neat stuff.)
Over all today was a lot of fun. I did come back with a few new ideas to try
on/with my Legacy.

I hope everyone has a great day.
We will talk to you all latter.

for what it's worth, there is a woodworking show in somerset, new jersey next
weekend...i will be going...and the legacy guys are scheduled to be there...i
have gone to this show in the past and found that the legacy people have no
interest whatsoever in discussing their older equipment...but if someone has a
question i will give it a shot...let me know...joe
