Subject: Completed Project

All.
Here is a just completed project that the Legacy had played a small but
important part in. It is a 11 foot tall by 14 foot long set of bookshelves. It
was built in four sections, each being the full height. Wood was Red Oak with
Sherman Williams stain color "pecan" with a Minwax matte finsh poly topcoat.
One end was covered by adjoining wall and the other was open to be seen. I made
a raised panel on that end, but it is obscured by a post that you can see on
the opposite end from where the photo is taken. (did not get a photo of this)
This thing is so tall and long that it is hard to get a good photo of it (at
least with my camera). I made the rosettes that top off the fluted trim and the
spindle that is the top rung on the ladder with the Legacy. The spindleI
started as a 1.5" dowel, used 3/4" rope moulding cutter, 4 starts with a 6"
pitch. I used a left and right hand spiral on either end just to give it more
visual interest. The rollling library ladder was interesting to make (my
first). The hardware is quite expensive. Just short of 1k for one relatively
small box of parts and a PVC tube with the rail. It does roll rather nicely I
have to say.
Another happy customer with several neighbors ;)
