Hello Bill
That could be something useful to one of our group? although the Legacy acme
screw is 5/8"x8 so a new nut and hook up to the carriage, will be needed if
...? But anything is possible.
Thanks for the idea.

Subject: Lead Screw

Hello All,
Some time ago there was a thread looking for a source for lead screws. I didn’t
follow it too closely, so I don’t know if a good source was ever found. Well,
to the point. Today I purchased a new screw drive garage door opener. It came
with, you guessed it, a nine foot lead screw. The lead screw is in three foot
sections that interlock to form one screw, and is steel, one half inch
diameter, and has eight threads per inch pitch. If this would work for use, I
would guess that there are old screw drive garage door openers out there.
