An example, Mikes home made roping bit, he used on his carriage indexing video. the profile is nice but the depth of cut is much shallower than what you can find in any router profile on the market. How about a long shallow cove lets say 2" wide but only 1/2" deep. (just an example.) Not complex profiles that need to be made, but simple ones that can fill the void that you just cant buy. On a different scale, Legacy did it years ago to make a huge barley twist bit, (sold by Magnate) for there machines some years back... Just something to think about.
