I think it sounds like a good idea, I think mounting the templates could
be as simple as the ShopSmith actually or mine on my big lathe has a slot
with multiple wing nuts. I have the Vega. Do you have any LOM rail? you
could
make a nice system using that?
My biggest concern is getting it all to travel free enough to make it
functional.
I do not think using the drive is a very good idea as it tends to blind and
catch too much.
For sure linear bearings?? which you have so? Lets see where it goes.
