I contacted "Red Barn" The People/company who I like to use for my bone
turnings.
I wrote them complaining about the lac of there product, on the market shelves
lately, They have been
selling filled bones in a much greater volume then what they did in the past.
The best bones that I can find are
now all filled with some kind of goodies for the dogs. (at twice the price.)
They just sent me this reply. (Its not quite what I was hoping for, but its
not a bad start...)

Large White Bone
All our natural bones are processed (slow roast/cooked) carefully for desired
performance and sterility. However, it is known that any cooked bone can run a
risk of splinter and breaking at random. This is because each bone’s density
will vary due to natural factors like breed, age, and nutrients fed over the
lifespan of the animal it came from. We of course have no control over that
part of nature, as our top priority is making sure bones pass every QA and QC

If you go to the link She sent, there prices for large bone is quite a bit
lower then what I can find them for at the pet food stores.
For you all who may want to try bone turning, for the price and the ease of
