It also seems that when I clicked on the PE button, that it installed
the Legacy version of PE ON TOP OF MY PURCHASED FULL VERSION.

Hello Mark,
Geoff forwarded this on to me. I'm Jon Shupe from Passage Express. The
programmer tells me that the capability to change the installation location
was mistakenly ommitted and will be available when he makes an update to the
installation program.

The other problem we have with removal of all of the Passage Express folder
when you are removing the software, is that we would probably be hung or
shot if we did so by many users who sometimes like to uninstall and reload
for whatever reason and may forget to make a backup copy of the work they
spent many hours on. Although, it sounds like a good idea that we document
this fact plainly.

What type of document do you have? (File type, like PDF etc.)
Thanks,
Jon

Geoff,

There is something else that needs to be implemented. That is to give the
user the option of where to install PE. I tried it out yesterday and it
installed automatically on my C drive, which is too small (I have added
another much larger drive on which I load programs and keep data). So today
I tried to run another program and found I had problems because my C drive
was almost out of space. Consequently I have uninstalled it. This is a
shame because it seems to be an interesting program. Then, to make matters
worse I found that the uninstall left behind a huge amount of data (I had
made the mistake of reading my entire Legacy file into PE). Fortunately I
know enough to delete it myself. But my conclusion is that this is shoddy
programming - I can't tell it where to install and it doesn't uninstall
cleanly. If these get fixed (and you implement the ability to specify what
to load - I found it loaded all my scanned documents when I only wanted
pictures of people and gravestones), then I'll try again. Meanwhile I'm
staying clear of this. Sorry to complain but perhaps this will contribute
to a better job the next time around. Cheers,

Mark
