Glad you managed to get your Gedcom sorted out.

You are well on the track. It is trying to see if there is any news/updates. If you go to the Home tab and then click the Options tab in the top right hand corner you can switch it off.

I am still learning to use my downloaded version of Legacy so forgive what may seem a basic question.

When I start Legacy, it immediately tries to access the internet - a request my firewall immediately asks me permission for. Why does Legacy access the internet on starting? I can understand it accessing the web when I use its internal browser to go somewhere, but on starting there is no special reason to do so, except maybe for updates. Can I turn this feature off?
