Well, maybe. Are you using the “User ID” field for anything? If not, how about that field for the South African Identity Number?

Do this (You can always change your mind):

  1. Go to the Family View.
  2. RIGHT click on the field names for husband (or wife).
  3. Click Customize. It will give a list of current fields shown, and the ability to change them.
  4. You can choose any field you want to change, but I am going to suggest you change the last field. Click the “…” button, and a list of Field Names to Display appears. Look for and select “User ID” without the quotes. Click “Select”
  5. Close the Customize Display; click Close. Now you have a “User ID” field in your fields.
  6. Click someone you want to enter a number for. Enter that number into his/her “User ID” field.

If you are already using the “User ID” field for something, let me know. I will tell you another way to do this using Events.

Enjoy.

Subject: [LegacyUG] How can I add ID number

Since 1950’s all South African citizens have a 13 digit identity number. On the customised display, I have changed the last field to say ID number. I have used what is known as TAG 1 to create the field.

I cannot find out how to add the data to each person’s file. Any help.
