John,
You can still add sources for the basic Birth, Death and Marriage events.
You don't have to 'create' events for these entries. In fact, to do so
would indeed make narratives read most strangely because Legacy would pick
up the information from the BD&M ready-made events and then repeat the
information from your created events.
When you enter the BD&M information you can add a source by having the
cursor in the relevant field (e.g. Birth or Death - or Marriage date or
place if you are entering a spouse) then clicking on the books icon which
will take you to the source screen.

Cheers,
Jan

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Personal ID Numbers

Hello Richard and Susan

As I read both your emails I realised that I do not have any events for
BIRTH MARRIAGE or DEATH as they are already shown on the Family View screen

Therefore I have not entered any sources for that type of information.

If I create such events then I can source them then add an ID Number such
as
Birth 01 for the birth cert
Death 01 for the Death Cert
Marr 01 for the marriage cert
then mark each document that sources that information with the appropriate
number

>From reading some later emails it seems that this way of doing things may
affect the narrative
Report. Would I be doing this type of entry correctly
