I posed this question once before, but am still having problems with the data entry.

I have a cousin, "Mary," who had three out-of-wedlock children with three different men before she married and had six children in that marriage.

For the three out-of-wedlock children, I do not know the names of the fathers. Legacy insists on adding a father before children can be entered, which is what I do not want.

I tried adding a "dummy father," entering the child and then unlinking the "dummy father" from the mother. However, at that point the child is an orphan with no parents. If I then try to link the child to the mother, I have to link to the known marriage; again, that is what I do not want.

How can I add the three children to Mary and not have to include unknown fathers or link the children to the known marriage? Ideas...please.

Jon you can not get around the child having a father, in Legacy and in life. That is a fact of life.
Legacy needs two people to create a child.
I usually name the father as unknown.
Mary had three liaisons, plus a marraige, thats life
