Dora, You are quite correct in that "../" will take you up one level. One
thing to watch is that if you have pictures created by Legacy then Legacy
also assumes that their folder will be up one level as well - it uses
"./../PictureFolder/picture". If, like me you put the picture folder in the
folder containing the individuals' pages the the "../" needs taking out from
the picture folder path.

Yup, I will either create my home page by hand, or create it in another
program. I'm creating sections on each of the sections of my family tree.
I wanted to know how to write the path in the home button field so it would
go up a level instead of having an absolute link to a particular page the
location of which will vary depending on where I put the site.
But I think I figured out the answer to my question. What I originally
tried appears to work.

Dora, are you using another program to link your pages? The reason I ask
is that I am not clear about your question as you mention a "home page
button" then go on to say that "the program puts in full paths". What
program? Legacy doesn't do this nor does an FTP program which loads a file
onto the server.
