Hi Lisa,

Firstly my apologies. I had thought I had said in my reply that the other table to look at was table tblBR.

It is difficult to tell from the email where the difference actually is (actually have have just looked down this reply and it's much clearer) but it seems to me that the main indication is the 0 and 1 in the file reference column - I have nothing in that column. But as, perhaps, an aside the 0 and 1 in the PicOrder column seems to indicate that you do have two pictures in the Picture Gallery (click the picture screen icon on Family View to check) but it could be a virtual picture I suppose?

So I would check whether the pics with a 1 in the FilingRef column have duplicates. If so you can then write a query to check this. It would be something like:

SELECT PicName
FROM tblBR
WHERE tblBR.FilingRef=1

I think this would work in Access but like I say I do not know that program well enough to be sure.

Similarly I cannot check the script which Richard sent as I would have to rewrite it for OOo and in any event do not have the problem so it would either do nothing or simply mess up my file. I cannot emphasise enough the need to practice on a copy btw. I also think that the way of putting such a file into Access is different from OOo.

Hope this helps.

Ron

Ron,
I was able to open in Access. I resorted on the file name and VIOLA!!
Here is the first one to show up duplicated. I think this exemplifies my problem.
IDBR IDIR IDType PicType PicOrder PicName IDBPPic PicCaption
PicDate PicDesc PicPrint PicSoundName IDBPSound Used PicPref
FilingRef
2315 2730 30 0 0 1810ConcoridaParLAJeremiahRobinette.gif 2 1810 census 1 1 1 0 2316 2730 30 0 1 1810ConcoridaParLAJeremiahRobinette.gif 2 1810 census 1 1 1 1

I double checked and sure enough Jeremiah Robinette has two photos of the 1810 census doc showing up! Now to delete one?? If I delete the duplicate entries in Access will it screw up the database is some unforseen way?
Lisa
