Thanks so much Ron for taking the time o help me, I really do appreciate
this.

As you may have seen in some of my earliest postings I am very new to
legacy and as usual in a HURRY as I am now on the down hill run !!!

I am not very good at expressing myself but I will have a go.

I have 7 entries for Patrick CULLODENs and I want to export them to a
database where I can sort the various different fields. This I hope will
help me to see if any of them are the same person and also to see what I
need to find out about say one of them e.g. death to tie him to another
Patrick. I also have the problem with others like John and Michael. Some
of them range over 100 years but for instance if two come from eh same
place they may be the same person.

Whilst I do not know very much about Legacy at the moment I am fairly
computer savvy.

Looking forward to hearing from you or I could give you a ring if you
thought that might be easier.

Cheers from Valerie

in Legacy

Valerie,

I am not sure as to what you are trying to do here, or why, so perhaps
you
could go into more detail. It is possible in may instances to see what
is
attached to whom, or vice versa, from within Legacy.

Many Legacy reports allow the creation of csv files which can then be
imported into a spreadsheet, and if I remember correctly Works does
allow
this (I uninstalled Works ages ago so cannot check) but I do know that
Works
cannot read Access files.

What I am trying to say is that I have difficulty in seeing what
information
you may be able to get from a spreadsheet that you cannot already get
from
the facilities contained within Legacy.

Ron Ferguson
