While at the BYU Family History and Genealogy Conference I bought version 6
again. (In hopes that Legacy will send me version 7 before it hits the
retail stores. No promises made but I can dream anyways.) There was a
sticker on the box that said "FREE Upgrade to version 7". Inside the box was
were instructions on how to register and receive version 7 when it comes
out. So I would assume anyone buying from the Legacy store would get the
same type of instructions.
I have no idea when Legacy started to promise the free upgrade to version 7
with a purchase of version 6. But I know my original version 6 didn't have
that offer. (I bought it when it was released.) I would of had to purchase
or upgrade to version 7 when it came out anyways. If you just bought version
6 I would call Legacy (number on website) and ask if it comes with a free
upgrade.
So the answer to your question - it depends on when you bought version 6 if
the upgrade to 7 will cost or not.
