I've been reading all the messages about lumping and splitting, but at the
risk of sounding stupid, could someone give me an example - perhaps using a
specific examples using data from Ancestry.com and/or a US GenWeb site to
illustrate exactly what lumping and splitting is, and how these could differ
depending on whether the source provides the original image? This has been
very confusing to me.
