I've reversed my place names on Master lists. On FGS's the place reads Aurora, Kane, Illinois. On my Master Source list it reads, Illinois, Kane, Aurora. What if you put the probably, possibly, or of after Aurora. I haven't tested this, but you can. :))

Mitch:

But wouldn't that have the same result: a long list of "of's"? What I'd
really like is to see something like Aurora, Kane, Illinois, followed on the
Master Location List by the probable Aurora, etc. Maybe the only way to
accomplish that is by using "Aurora [?], Kane, Illinois." Does anyone see
any potential downsides to this arrangement?

Kirsten,

If I know somebody lived in or had some relationship with an area at
some period on their life, then I say "of the place name". For
example, "of Scrivelsby, Lincolnshire, England". These print and all
sort together on the location list.

Cheers, Mitch
